Man injured during indiscriminate firing in Sahibabad

A man, contractor by profession,was injured when some car-borne unidentified assailants chased his car and fired indiscriminately, police said.

The victim has been identified as Satvir Singh, resident of Rajendra Nagar in Sahibabad. The incident took place last night, said SHO Sahibabad Haridayal Singh Yadav .

The contractor was returning back to his home around 10 pm in his car from his office situated at Teela Modh. His friends who were following him in two different cars took a turn from Bhopura trisection towards Delhi, the SHO said.

After seeing them off Satvir took left turn and reached near Sikandarpur-Pasonda village. Then a white esteem car overtook him and assailants inside the car started firing indiscriminately at him, he said.
 

The culprits fired five bullets at him, of which four hit his car while the fifth one pierced through his right thigh, he said.

Police then reached the spot and took Satvir to GTB hospital in East Delhi where he is undergoing treatment, he added.

An FIR has been lodged against unknown persons and police is further probing the matter, the SHO said.
