: In a gruesome incident, a 23-year-old inebriated welder killed his roommate by stepping on his chest and kicking him in Avarampalayam area in the city, police said.
Angad (23) and Virendar (25), both hailing from Uttar Pradesh and working as welders, had consumed liquor last evening in their room. Later a wordy quarrel broke out leading to fisticuffs. In a fit of anger Angad tripped his room mate stood on his chest and kicked him continuously, resulting in suffocation and breathelessness.
Hearing the noises, inmates of nearby rooms rushed to the spot and found Virendar unconscious and Angad fleeing the scene. They immediately took the injured man to the Government Hospital, where he was declared brought dead, police said.
A search is on for Angad, police said.
