Man kidnapped for Rs 3 cr ransom, rescued within hours

A man was rescued within hours of his kidnapping for a ransom of Rs 3 crore and the accused have been arrested, police said today.

Ashok Kumar Gupta, a resident of Green Wood Society here, was kidnapped yesterday. He was rescued today, within 12-hours of the incident, they said.

Police teams started search operations after Ashok's son Vipul Kumar Gupta filed a complaint regarding the kidnapping and a ransom call for Rs 3 crore.

Sanesh, Robin and Pawan from Sanota village have been arrested in the case, police said, adding the accused were identified from video footage from CCTV cameras.
 

Two country-made pistols, three live cartridges, two empty cartridges and five mobile phones were recovered from the accused, they said.
