A speeding truck killed a 35 -year-old man and injured his friend when they got out of their car to change a tyre on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway here, police said today.
The incident took place last night near Jhatta Badauli when Vikram Singh, a resident of Etah, was on his way to meet his relative with his friend Munesh in Delhi in his car, an official said.
After a tyre burst, the two stepped out of the vehicle to change it, when the truck hit them, he said.
Singh died on the spot and Munesh was rushed to a hospital for treatment, he added.
The police are searching for the absconding truck driver.
