Man killed after two-wheeler hit by speeding vehicle

A 40-year-old man died after his two-wheeler was hit by an over-speeding vehicle near Japanese Garden in Rohini area last night, police said.

The victim, Lalji Yadav, was a resident of Sector 16 in Rohini and was returning to his home from work, when the accident took place around 12.30 AM, said a senior police officer.

Police reached the spot following a PCR call and rushed Lalji to Ambedkar Hospital where he was declared dead by the doctors. Lalji, who hailed from Pratapgarh, is survived by his wife and three sons.

Skid marks were found by the police near the accident site that indictated that the driver of the vehicle involved in the collision had applied breaks before hitting Lalji's Scooty.
 

He was thrown away from the two wheeler and his helmet came off due to the impact of the collision resulting in head injury, he said.

The driver of the vehicle escaped after the accident. Efforts are being made to identify and apprehend the accused driver by examining CCTV camera footage of the spot, he added.
