A man was killed by a leopard at Motichur range of Rajaji Tiger Reserve between Haridwar and Rishikesh, a police official said today.
Raiwala police recovered the badly-mutilated body of the man from near Motichur railway crossing last evening, SP (rural) Shweta Chaubey said.
The man seems to be in his forties.
A saffron-coloured bag containing religious books was also found lying close to the body from which it appears that the man was a devotee, she said.
However, no ID proof or mobile phone was found in the bag which would have helped in establishing his identity, she said, adding the body has been sent to Rishikesh mortuary.
