Man killed by neighbour

A 35-year-old man was shot dead

allegedly by his neighbour when he asked the accused to return him the borrowed money, police said today.

The incident took place yesterday in Naubasta area, when the victim Bharat Tiwari, was called by neighbour, Ajit Agnihotri, to his house for returning fifty thousand rupees he had borrowed from Tiwari for his mother's illness, police said.

When Tiwari reached there, Agnihotri abused him and shot him with his licensed gun before fleeing the spot.

Tiwari, who was a receptionist at a coaching centre, had been asking Agnihotri, who works as a security guard, to return the amount, which had led to heated arguments between them in the past.
 

The victim was rushed to nearby hospital by his family where he was declared dead, police said, adding the body has been sent for postmortem.

The accused is absconding and police teams have been consitituted to trace him, they said.
