A 52-year-old man was knifed to death allegedly by his employee, who grazed his cattle, over outstanding wage of Rs 40 and some rice at Ghatsila in Jharkhand, police said today.

The officer-in-charge of Dumaria police station, Vipin Kumar said the employee, a tribal, had been appointed against a quantity of rice and money as his wages.

However, the man had delayed the payment of Rs 40 and some rice to his employee.

Peeved over the alleged dilly dally, the employee had an altercation with the man and attacked him with a knife and killed him last night in an inebriated state at Bhitarminda village, he said.

The man's body was found later and the employee arrested, he added.
