Man killed in accident while fleeing with robbed car

A man was killed when the vehicle he and his accomplice had allegedly robbed from a cab driver was hit by a truck in southwest Delhi's Dwarka, the police said today.

Last night, the police were informed that a cab driver had been robbed of his vehicle by two men. Within a span of few minutes, they received another call about an accident near Goyla Dairy traffic signal, they said.

Police found an injured man in the passenger seat of the stolen vehicle that had been hit by a truck, whose driver had fled leaving the vehicle behind.

The injured man, later identified as Ashish Danda (22), was rushed to a hospital where he was declared brought dead, the police said.
 

Chandrapal, from whom the vehicle was robbed, said he was going home, when two men and asked him to drop them in Gurgaon, they said.

When he refused, the two men snatched the car key from him by brandishing a knife and and drove off with the vehicle, the police said.

Later, they met with the accident. Danda's accomplice fled from the spot, they said, adding police are trying to nab Danda's accomplice and the truck driver.
