Man killed in road mishap in UP

A 35-year-old man was killed when the motorcycle he was riding was hit by a speeding dumper in Bidhnu area here, police said today.

The incident took place last evening when the victim, identified as Manoj Shukla, was on his way to Baradevi temple. He was crushed by a speeding dumper when the vehicle attempted to overtake his motorcycle near Afzalpur village, Station Officer of Bidhnu police station Atar Singh said.

Shukla was a resident of Kathara and a father of three children, he said.

The dumper while trying to flee ran over Manoj, he said.

The body has been sent for postmortem, he said.
 

A case has been registered in the matter, police said, adding, a search is on nab the driver.
