Man killed in scrap bomb blast at Lunkaransar in Raj

A 53-year-old farmer was today killed when a scrap bomb exploded while he was removing copper from it at Lunkaransar tehsil area of Bikaner district, police said.

The deceased was identified as Gurdeep Singh, living in 276-RD along the International Border of Lunkaransar in Bikaner district, police said.

The deceased had allegedly stolen used explosive material from Mahajan Field Firing range and was trying to remove copper metal when the bomb exploded at his home this morning, they said, adding, investigation into the case is on.

Defense Spokesperson Colonel Manish Ojha said the army would fully co-operate with the district police in any investigation on the incident.
