Man killed, jewellery worth Rs 5 lakhs looted

Around half-a-dozen persons broke into the house of Parmatma Prasad (65), a retired employee of State Electricity Board last night, and brutally beat him and his wife and looted Rs 5,000, police said today.

When their son Abhishek tried to intervene, he was shot dead by the assailants. Abhishek succumbed to his wounds on the way to the hospital.

They also claimed that jewellery worth Rs 5 lakhs was looted from their house in Millennium city.

Police have launched a manhunt to nab the culprits.
