Man killed over dispute on Kali Puja land

A land owner was pierced with sharp-edged weapon following an altercation with local Kali Puja organisers at Chandrakona in West Midnapore district today.

A senior police official said the man was suddenly attacked with the weapon during a heated argument with some of the local organisers about ercting a Kali puja pandal on the small plot of land, owned by him.

He was declared dead at hospital.

Teb persons had been arrested in connection with the inicdent.

Incidently the wife of the deceased - Shamila, a local TMC panchayat member, had been murdered by alleged CPIM men sometimes back in the locality.
