Man killed over property dispute, 3 held

A villager was killed allegedly by three youths over a property dispute here, police said today.

The deceased, Somnath Pardhi (48), had a long standing dispute over some property with his nephew Ramdas Pardhi (27) in Vangani village under Kulgaon-Badlapur township of Thane district, Kulgaon police station sub-inspector L T Bhoi said.

Ramdas along with his accomplices Sharukh Shaikh (24) and Nilesh Sapre (23) yesterday attacked Somnath with a sword at a market in Vangani, killing him on the spot, he said.

The three fled from the scene after the offence.

Based on a complaint, the three were arrested late last night and booked under sections 302 (murder) read with 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the IPC and also sections 27 and 4 of the Arms Act, he said.
 

Further investigation was on, police said.
