Man killed, two injured in road accident in South-west Delhi

A man was killed and two others injured when their car rammed into a parked van in south-west Delhi in the wee hours today, police said.

32-year-old Sandeep Kamal, a Gurgaon resident and employee of a private firm there, died while his two friends Manish and Varun were seriously injured when their car rammed into a van parked on the roadside on RTR flyover in Delhi Cantt area around 4:30 am.

Kamal was driving the car and the impact was so strong that the trio got stuck in the vehicle. By the time locals rescued them, the car had caught fire which was doused by fire tenders, a senior police official said.
 

They were immediately rushed to the AIIMS Trauma Centre where Kamal was declared brought dead while Manish and Varun are undergoing treatment. Their condition is said to be critical but stable, he added.

Police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving causing death and a probe is underway. During priliminary investigation it was revealed the stationary van was punctured and was parked on the roadside by its driver.

An autopsy was conducted and the body has been handed over to the family.
