Man killed while fiddling with gun in Kashmir

A 21-year-old employee of a bakery was killed allegedly when a 12 bore gun went off accidentally inside a bakery shop in Bandipora district of north Kashmir, police said today.

"Rayees Ahmad Naikoo was killed when he was fiddling with a 12 bore gun of Aijaz Ahmad, son of the bakery owner, last evening at Sumbal in Bandipora district," a police official said.

Ahmad along with some friends came to the bakery shop carrying a 12 bore gun as they were going for hunting. Naikoo took the gun and started fiddling with it, the official said, adding, the gun went off accidentally and injured him.
 

He was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, he added.

A case under section 307 RPC has been registered and investigation started, and Aijaz has been taken in custody for questioning, the official added.
