Man killed, wife injured for resisting theft in UP

A 55-year-old man was killed and his wife seriously injured when atleast six unidentified persons allegedly attacked them for spoiling their bid to steal in Gadua village in Sasani area here, police said today.

Satyaveer Singh was killed last night and his wife Mamta injured when the miscreants allegedly attacked them with sticks and rods for resisting their theft attempt, they said.

While Singh died on the spot, his wife was rushed to a hospital, where her condition was stated to be stable.

Meanwhile, the accused fled with cattles of the villagers, police said.

An FIR has been registered in this connection against unidentified persons, Additional Superintendent of Police Uday Pratap Singh said.
 

No arrests have been made in the matter so far, they added.
