A 27-year-old man killed his elder brother and his wife in Khammam district of Telangana today as he allegedly wanted to secure his mother's job on compassionate grounds after eliminating them, police said.

Accused, Wilson Babu, who was an alcoholic, allegedly hit his brother J Vijaykumar (38) and his wife Mary Sulochana (32) with a pestle when they were asleep at their house in Yellandu mandal of the district at around 3.30 am, resulting in their death, Yellandu Police Station Inspector Narender said.

"Wilson Babu's mother, who was working with a state-run company was planning retirement on medically unfit grounds. Babu wanted the job of his mother instead of his elder brother getting employment on compassionate grounds, and over this matter he killed his brother and sister-in-law," he added.

Asked if Babu had been arrested or taken into custody, the police officer said further investigations were on. A case has been registered.
