A man allegedly killed his parents and four others before he was lynched by the villagers of Tamba in Khunti district, police said.
Joseph Danga, who was out of home and returned during the day, axed his father, mother, uncle and three others to death, Superintendent of Police M Tamilvanan said here.
Angry villagers then caught Danga and lynched him, he added.
The reason behind the gruesome incident was not yet established while the police reached the village where tension ran high, the SP said.
