A man killed his son when he tried to attack him near here today, police said.
Police said Shivamoorthy was angry with his father Karmegam for deposing against him for allegedly killing his mother last year.
Shivamoorthy and his brother had allegedly tried to murder their sister for having an affair but their mother intervened. She suffered a blow in the dead and died on the spot, police said.
Shivamoorthy and his brother Vigneswaran were arrested,and trial was going on. Both of them were angry with their father as he deposed against them,and tried to attack him today.
Police said Shivamoorthy died after he was hit with a sickle by his father while Vigneswaran fled.
Karmegam and Vigneswaran were arrested and remanded to judicial custody, police said.
