A man allegedly killed his wife and teenaged daughter with a sharp weapon in their rented house in Azad Nagar area here on Saturday, police said.
The accused, Shrawan Kumar, killed his wife, Sarla Devi (36), and daughter Pooja (16) over a domestic dispute, they said.
Kumar was detained by police for questioning, the police said.
Shrawan originally hailed from Dobhi village but was residing in the Azad Nagar house where the bodies of his wife and daughter were found, they said.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Jogender Singh the bodies were sent to the civil hospital for post-mortem.
