A 50-year-old man, who had allegedly raped a woman last week, was lynched by villagers after he along with an accomplice made an abortive attempt to rape her daughter in Seraikela-Kharswan district of Jharkhand, the police said today.
Radha Mohan Munda and another man allegedly tried to drag a 35-year-old woman to a desolate place at Ichagarh to rape her yesterday, Officer-in-charge of Ichagarh police station Amarjeet Prasad said.
The woman was, however, rescued by villagers and a panchayat meeting was convened last evening to discuss the issue and punish the two.
