A 24-year-old man has been murdered at Fatehgarh village near Ambala city, police said on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Jaswinder Singh.
The police have registered a murder case against the accused Balwinder and two others, they said.
In his complaint lodged with the police, the deceased's brother Rajesh said Jaswinder had gone out to meet someone on Tuesday afternoon, but he did not return till late evening, after which family members started looking for him.
When the family members reached the village bus stand late in the night they found two youths holding Jaswinder, while another youth was hitting him on the face with a brick, Rajesh said, adding that seeing the family members the assailants fled the spot immediately.
On the way to the hospital, Jaswinder succumbed to his injuries, Rajesh said. SHO of Panjokhra Police Station Deepak Kumar said based on Rajesh's complaint the police have identified one accused as Balwinder and lodged a case of murder against him and two others.
Jaswinder worked as a painter, Rajesh stated in the police complaint.
