An auto-driver allegedly murdered his father-in-law for scolding him for beating his wife near Uthiragoshamangai in this district today.
Police said the 35-year-old man used to frequently quarrel with his wife and had allegedly thrashed her, angering his father-in-law who scolded him.
An altercation ensued and the man allegedly hit his father-in-law with an iron rod, killing him, police said.
The man is absconding.
