Man nabbed, 4 kg charas seized near Indo-Nepal border

Customs sleuths today seized four kg contraband charas valued at Rs 40 lakh in international market from a smuggler at Raxual on Indo-Nepal border.

Acting on a tip off, the Customs team nabbed one person after chasing his auto rickshaw for some distance at Raxual, Assistant Customs Commissioner Kamlesh Kumar said.

The man, Gulam Rasool, had arrived in Indian side at Raxual from Nepal on an auto rickshaw with the contraband.

On checking, eight packets of charas were found tied in his waist, Kumar said.

Rasool is resident of Shyampur village under Adapur police station of Bihar's East Champaran district, he said.
