: A man and his parents were arrested today at Vythialingapuram in Virudhunagar district for allegedly harrasing his wife for more dowry.
Police said they were arrested after the 23-year-old woman filed a complaint at an all-woman police station, alleging that she was being constantly harrassed for more dowry after her marriage in 2010 and sent her to her home.
This was despite the fact that her parents had given Rs 10,000 and about 2 sovereigns of gold jewellery as dowry at the time she got married, she said.
Acting on her complaint a case was registered and the three were arrested, police said.
