An elderly 85-year-old blind woman has been raped allegedly by a person at border village Shahpur Jajan under Dera Baba Nanak, police said today.
According to police, woman's son Yakub Masih had lodged a complaint that his widowed mother was alone at the house last night when 45-year-old Pagga Masih, a resident of same village and who was under the influence of liquor, entered the house and raped her.
He fled away from the spot when he arrived, they said.
A medical board has been constituted to conduct her medical examination tomorrow and DNA test would be conducted later on, SHO Suba Singh said, adding the accused has been arrested.
