A man allegedly raped his minor niece at Tharoijam Maning Leikai village in Imphal West district of Manipur, police said today.
Irom Bobo (40) raped his 12-year-old niece in his house on Monday night. The girl ran out of the house crying and met women guards ('Meira Paibis' in Manipuri) who took her to the house of local gram panchayat pradhan Th Dwijamani.
Local residents yesterday barged into the house of Bobo, picked him up and handed him over to Patsoi Police Station.
The girl was taken to Regional Institute of Medical Science and Hospital where her medical test was conducted, police said.
