A 21-year-old man was rescued by CISF personnel as he was allegedly attempting suicide at a Delhi Metro station here.

The incident occurred on January 9 at about 11:00 AM at the Preet Vihar station when a man was seen climbing the railing of the station in a bid to jump off on the road side to commit suicide, by an on-duty Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) official.

"The official alerted his colleagues and the man, a resident of Kishan Nagar area of the national capital, was rescued and brought down from the railing. On questioning, he revealed he had some dispute with his uncle and wanted to commit suicide," a CISF official said.

He was later handed over to his family members who were called by Metro authorities, the official added.
