Man sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for rape

A man has been sent to 10 years in jail by a district court for kidnapping and raping a minor girl in 2012.

Arvind was also imposed a fine of Rs 65,000 was imposed by the court yesterday, government counsel Manoj Tevatia said.

"The convict had kidnapped two sisters, aged 15 years and 13 years, who had come to stay with their grandmother at Chhijarsi in Noida, in 2012. He raped the elder sister for 10 days.

"He took the girls to Bulandshahar, Kanpur, Lucknow and Allahabad. Arvind was arrested from Allahabad on June 27, 2012 and the girls were rescued," he said.
 

The counsel added that Arvind was convicted on the basis of the statements of witnesses and the victims along with the medical report of the minor girl that confirmed rape.
