Man sentenced to 10 years RI in dowry death case

The fast track court - II judge Vikram Singh passed the order sentencing accused Manoranjan Kumar after convicting him for the death of his wife Supriya Devi.

According to prosecution, Kumar had strangulated his wife to death at their house in Shivnagar locality on October 20, 2010, after her parents had failed to meet his dowry demand of Rs one lakh and a motorcycle.

Supriya's father Vikram Jha had lodged a case against Kumar, charging him with the murder of his daughter for dowry.
