Additional District Judge S N Tripathi awarded capital punishment to Naresh Chandra yesterday.
Chandra killed his father Ram Chandra Sharma (70) and mother Brahma Devi (68) on July 30, 2010 after they refused to give him money, which they got after selling land.
The matter pertaining to Chandra's teenage son, who was also allegedly involved in the incident, has been sent to juvenile court.
