Additional District Judge Subha Singh sentenced Vinod to life imprisonment and also imposed a fine of Rs 15,000 on him.
In September 2009, Vinod with the help of a friend killed his wife Poonam in Khandauli village as he wanted to marry another woman, prosecution sources said.
As the friend who helped Vinod in the murder was a minor, his case was referred to juvenile justice board.
