A court here has sentenced a man to seven years in prison for abducting and raping a minor girl early this year.
Sessions Judge cum Special Judge Mandi, Baldev Singh, held Sunny guilty of the crime and awarded the sentence along with a fine of Rs 10,000.
The incident took place in March this year when the girl, a student of standard XI, went to market to purchase a bag in Sarkaghat town.
She met the accused in the market who promised her to get a cheap bag and took her to Hamirpur. Later, Sunny took the girl to a room and sexually assaulted her.
