A man was shot at and four others were injured after a group of 10-15 people allegedly attacked them following an argument over plying of trucks on colony roads in south Delhi's Vasant Kunj area, police said today.

According to police, Jaspal, 39, received gun shot injuries while the fours others, who had gone to save him from being attacked, were beaten with sticks and rods by one Vinod Khatri and his group of 10-15 people last night.

Jaspal had asked Khatri, a resident of Kishangarh Village, not to ply trucks laden with construction material through the main road of the colony, since they get damaged, a senior police official said.

Enraged over this, Khatri allegedly first abused and threatened Harpal over phone and then reached his house last night along with 10-15 people armed with sticks, rods and firearms.

They called him outside and allegedly assaulted him and also tried to shoot at him.

Harpal shouted for help and his tenants came out to his rescue but the accused attacked them and opened fire, following which they managed to escape.

Harpal sustained bullet injuries on his leg while four others also are got injured in the attack, the official said, adding that the incident has been captured by the CCTV cameras installed in the area.

After getting information about bullets being fired near Shanti Kunj around midnight, police rushed to the spot and found bloodstains and a live cartridge.

The injured were shifted to a hospital by a Police Control Room van, the officer said, adding the accused are yet to be arrested.
