A 40-year-old man was shot at allegedly by three bike-borne assailants today in the upscale sector 45 locality here, police said.

According to Hawa Singh, ACP (PRO) Gurgaon police, the incident took place early morning at around 7:30 AM when the victim, Ramesh Yadav, along with his wife went for morning walk at a park situated near their house.

When Yadav went few metres away on the track, the three accused persons opened fire on Yadav, who is the vice-president of a Gurgaon-based company, he said.

They fired at least two rounds of bullets until Yadav fell on the ground, he said.

"The residents, who were present in the park, came towards Yadav for help. The accused managed to flee from the spot," Singh said, adding he was rushed to Medanta hospital where his condition is said to be stable.

It appears to be a case of personal enmity as the attack was pre-planned. The reason behind the attack on Yadav will be ascertained after recording his statement, Singh said.

Yadav is still unconscious. Police has registered a case of attempt to murder against the three unidentified assailants under Sadar police station, he said.
