Vijai Rajbhar was shot at by by Jai Prakash and his brother Heeraman in Ranveerpur Dehli village in Sarai Lakhansi area late last night, they said.
Police said Vijai was taken to district hospital from where he was referred to Varanasi, but he died on the way.
An FIR has been lodged and efforts were on to nab the accused, they said.
