A 45-year-old man was today shot dead allegedly by a homeguard jawan in a dispute over irrigation field in Sikrara area, a senior officer said here.
Shesh Narain Gautam was shot dead by accused Lal Sahab Singh with his licenced fire-arm after the duo had a dispute over irrigation field in Shahpur village this morning, Additional Superintendent of Police O P Pandey said.
Singh fled from the spot after the incident, he said, adding, a case has been lodged and three persons have been detained in this connection.
