Man shot dead by Maoists

Perceiving him to be a police informer, the Maoists shot dead the man, identified as Pahjan Bharati, a native of Nagowar village, last night and dropped leaflet on the spot claiming responsibility for the murder, Superintendent of Police (City) Baburam said.

Upon being informed by the locals, the police rushed to the village earlier and took possession of the body and sent it for post-mortem, he said adding that a used cartridge was recovered from the spot.
