Man shot dead by robbers

A man was shot dead allegedly by some unidentified men after he resisted their robbery attempt near here, police said today.

The victim Ashok Rawat, a deed writer by profession, was returning home by car along with his family members last night after attending a function when he was forced to stop by the miscreants near Ryan School Crossing.

The accused robbed jewelleries from the female members but when they tried to loot the car, Rawat made an attempt to resist them following which they fired at him and fled from the spot, they said.

The injured was rushed to hospital, where he was declared brought dead by the doctors.
 

Police claimed that an old enmity could be the reason behind the murder.

A case has been registered in this connection.

In another incident, unidentified men looted a man while he was returning from hospital after visiting his ailing uncle, police said.

Gaurav, a resident of Sector-41 here, was looted at gunpoint of his gold chain, mobile phone and cash last night when he was returning home on his motorbike.

A case has been also registered in this regard, they added.
