A 47-year-old man was allegedly shot dead by some unidentified bike-borne persons near Mandoli Jail in northeast Delhi's Harsh Vihar, police said.

The incident took place last night when Om Prakash was returning home with his wife and their three-year-old daughter on a motorcycle after attending a kin's wedding in Loni near Ghaziabad, a senior police officer said.

They had left the wedding venue around 11 PM and reached near Mandoli Jail around 11.30 PM, when the assailants shot dead Prakash, the officer said

Prakash's daughter and his wife sustained injuries after he was shot at in the chest and the motorcycle skid, he said, adding the murder seems to be a fallout of a personal enmity.

The woman and her daughter were admitted to a hospital and discharged after treatment, the officer said.

A case of murder was registered against unknown persons at Harsh Vihar Police Station. Two teams have been formed to probe into the case, he officer said.

Prakash worked at a lathe machine factory and his wife worked as a maid. They, along with their five children, used to stay in Shahdara and had shifted to Harsh Vihar six months back, police said.
