Man shot dead in Amethi

here by unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants, police said today.

The assailants opened fire at Ishrar Ahmed killing him on the spot last evening and fled away, Additional Superintendent of Police Mata Prasad said.

Investigation is on, he said.
