A 35-year-old man was shot dead while his mother critically injured when a history-sheeter allegedly opened fire at them in Mussoorie town of the district.
The incident happened last night in Hasanpur village when Bobby alias Prem and his two friends parked their car outside the home of one Rajbala, police said.
Rajbala and his son Ajay came out and opposed the parking leading to a heated argument between them.
After that, Bobby allegedly shot at Rajbala and Ajay.
The mother-son duo were rushed to a hospital where Ajay died during the treatment, police said. Rajbala's condition is stated to be serious.
The accused fled the spot after the crime, police said, adding that a hub to nab them was on.
Police said that Bobby is a criminal with about a dozen cases against him.
