Praveen Kumar, who works as a security guard, was waylaid by the assailants last night when he was returning home, they said.
The trio started robbing him, and when he resisted, the assailants stabbed him with knives multiple times before fleeing, they said. Passersby rushed Kumar to hospital, they said.
The matter is being probed, they said.
