A 25-year-old man was allegedly stabbed by three men who tried to rob him of a Rs 500 currency note in southeast Delhi's Govindpuri area, police said today.

Lokendra Bahadur was stabbed in the chest and stomach by three unidentified men on the intervening night of November 16 and 17, a senior police officer said.

Bahadur was found lying near a bus stand in Govindpuri area with multiple stab wounds, he said.

His friend claimed that he was going to queue up outside a bank so that he could exchange his old currency with new one as soon as the bank opens in the morning.
