Man stabbed in UP's Amethi

A 20-year-old man was stabbed today during a clash with some persons at Thakurain Ka Purwa village under Mohanganj police station limits in Amethi district, police said.

Ranjit (20), a resident of Thakurain Ka Purwa, was stabbed after a clash with three accused of the same village as the victim's, Mohanganj SHO DK Singh said, adding that he was admitted to the community health center in Tiloi for treatment.

The victim is out of danger, he said.

Police lodged an FIR against the three accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Two of the accused have been arrested and efforts are on to nab the third one, Singh said.

 

In a separate incident, police busted a gang of bike lifters near Pitambar Pandey Ka Purwa village on Tikarmafi-Bhadar road under Sangrampur police station limits.

Additional SP, BC Dubey, told PTI that seven miscreants, all of them from Amethi, were nabbed by police last night and 12 motorcycles recovered from their possession.

He added that the kingpin of the gang was still absconding and exuded confidence that the prime accused would soon be behind the bars.

An FIR was lodged against the accused under relevant sections of the IPC.
