Satyanarayan's daughter was molested by one Rajveer Singh two months back inside her house in Kachola area following which the father had complained against him, police said.
The accused and his relatives allegedly attacked Satyanarayan at a market today with sharp edged weapons to take revenge, leaving him and two others injured.
"They were rushed to government hospital in the city. Satyanarayan (45) succumbed to his injuries and Krishna Gopal and a woman Santosh are being treated," they said.
No one has been arrested in this connection till now, they added.
