Sahibabd police station officer Ram Nath Yadav told PTI that the thieves stabbed their victim Dinesh Kumar to secure the release of one of their gang members who was caught by him.
Dinesh was taken to the nearby Narendra Mohan Hospital where he was declared brought dead due to multiple stab wounds, Yadav said.
