A man was allegedly stabbed to death by unidentified persons following a fight over parking space in Dussehra fair ground here, the police said today.
The incident took place last night at a parking block near the Asha Mata temple when Mukut Bihari Mehara (55), the parking operator, had a scuffle with two youths over parking of their vehicle.
Learning about the incident, the police personnel, deployed at the fair ground, reached the spot and took the two youths with them to the police station. But soon close to 15- 20 people, who were known to the two youths, came and killed Mehara by attacking him with knives.

Mehara's son had recently obtained the vehicle parking contract and Mehera was performing his duty at the time of incident, the police said.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital where from he was referred to the Maharao Bheem Singh (MBS) hospital but he succumbed to his injuries on the way, they said.
Following the incident, the police carried out raids at several locations in the city to nab the accused but no one could be arrested.
However, 10 youths and two minor have been detained, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Circle I, Kota city, Bane Singh said.
"Police have lodged a case under relevant sections of IPC in this connection and have detained 10 youths and two minors for interrogation but no one has been arrested so far," he said.
Mehara's body was handed over to his family members after post mortem today.
