Man stabs his wife to death, calls police to surrender

A 63-year-old man allegedly stabbed his wife to death at his residence in west Delhi's Subhash Nagar area today, following which he called up police and surrendered himself, police said.

According to police, the accused, identified as Rajendra, is suspected to be mentally unstable and was taken for a medical examination.

His wife, Sushma, was a central government employee, police said.

The couple had a heated argument regarding some financial matter in the morning, following which Rajendra allegedly stabbed Sushma to death and then called up the police, they said, adding when they reached the spot he was present near his wife's body which was lying in a pool of blood.
 

Rajendra was arrested and a case registered, police said.
